Lyndia Storey is a mother and grandmother, whose quest is to deepen her understanding of nature and how to live in harmony with the natural world. She is a natural born teacher, organizer and visionary who loves to share her knowledge of family well being and environmental justice. She is a speaker at local schools on healthy oceans and learning to follow your passion. She is a “blue water” sailor and has spent many years sailing the oceans communing with whales, dolphins and other cetaceans along the way.

She has a lifelong passion for social/environmental activist projects that are of benefit to the earth and all creatures that live here. With a degree in Social Work/Public Policy and a deep commitment to change her world, she has spearheaded many projects. They range from starting charter schools, domestic violence programs, a credit union, running a public radio station, raising money for world hunger projects and saving large and culturally significant pieces of land. She has done direct counsel with children and adults, with a special interest in how emotional trauma affects the brain and how to heal it. She is currently learning an ancient form of healing called Tai Yi.

Her commitment is to raise awareness of issues affecting people and the environment; to have the courage to speak out to bring about positive change. She has received many local, state and national awards over the years.

Her most recent projects include raising awareness about the worldwide problems brought about with nuclear technologies that are poisoning the world’s oceans and raising awareness of the affect of the US Navy’s sonar sound on whales & dolphins . The initial petition regarding the whales & dolphins that she brought forward received over half-million signers as well as raising awareness of the issue to another 1 1/2 million readers.
