Lance Leonard

Lance’s world view is the result of a personal commitment to deeply examining the unconscious assumptions (removing the “cultural eyeglasses”) which influence society’s relationship to spirituality, science, politics, and business. He sees the world through the lens of “life as a Spiritual Adventure”.

He sees our western culture as placing great significance on mental knowledge yet being deeply lacking in wisdom. He sees modern technology as a mere shadow of our “inner-tech” which is our true heritage, birthright and our future. He feels we have much to learn about the nature of life from indigenous cultures and our own true past. If he could change just one thing on a world wide basis, the most significant change would come from enough people deciding to hold the view that Earth is a living being, and acting according to that view.

He has spent several decades focused on marketing, wellness products and on Personal/Spiritual growth. He describes his tribe as being “Cultural Creatives”. In the past he has worked in Public Radio, been a professional counselor, group facilitator, mentor to young people, professional carpenter and is trained in the fine art of traditional wooden boat building.

He is currently the CEO of a young company named New Phoenix Rising. He describes it as a place where the Wellness sector meets Science and Spirituality. This project fosters several aspects of social change work and is structured to support the awakening of spiritual community. He is involved with 2 non-profit enterprises: Whale and Dolphin Watch, and Beyond Radiation.

He has logged over 10,000 ocean sailing miles, much of that as Captain of the vessel Alyria, a 41 foot, engine-less, traditional wooden schooner which was hand built by him. He is a surfer who loves to sail, snowboard, scuba dive and swim with whales and dolphins. Anything to do with water, especially the salty kind is a total passion.
He is a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loves dumb jokes and appreciates expressing a sense of humor in such a serious world!
